Age also causes a reduction in the adipose tissue in the greater labia area, which then may cease to cover the smaller labia, causing their protrusion. This condition brings no complications; it only disturbs the cosmetic appearance of the greater and the smaller labia. It is possible to fill in the greater labia with one’s own adipose tissue taken from the abdomen or the thigh subcutis and applied into the greater labia by means of a cannula. The surgery is usually carried out under general anaesthesia, with no hospitalisation required.
After the surgery, there are tiny patches in the places where the fat was drained, and also on the labia skin, which the patient can remove 3 days after the surgery. The patient may start taking showers as early as the day after the surgery; office work is possible 2-3 days after the surgery; full physical strain and intercourse are possible 2 weeks after the surgery.
